For the long-weekend!

Assalamu Allaykum dear parents!

As mentioned in the homework, this is a link to “My Father’s Dragon” which you can read with your child for the story log. However, please do not ask your child to tell you about it until at least one day later! The aim of the reading is to gauge the children’s comprehension and understanding of the story.

p.s. We did not have a chance to do our spelling quiz on Wednesday due to the Arabic Festival. We will do that quiz next week along with the new one insha’Allah.

Homework; Spelling Book; Play

Assalamu Allaykum dear parents!

You’ll find the homework with the students, as well as their Spelling notebooks. Please sign the last spelling quiz that they have completed.  All children should make corrections (writing their misspelled word three times) below or next to the words.

We are very excited to be preparing to present a lovely play based on the story “The Prince Who Wrote a Letter”, insha’Allah.  More information will be provided as we progress. The aim is to present it to the entire school….

Many thanks for your support.

p.s. Don’t forget to try to make it to next Wednesday’s Arabic Festival (details in the homework folder).

Pre-registration for next year

Assalamu Allaykum dear parents,

Sorry for the many posts, but it is a busy time indeed!

The school sent home important pre-registration forms for next year with all students on Thursday. If your child was absent, or did not bring a form home, please inform me or the office as soon as possible because the deadline for returning the form is at the end of month.

Many thanks for your cooperation.

Student-led Conference / Book Fair

Assalamu Allaykum Dearest Parents,

I have received only eight requests for attending tomorrow’s SLC with your child.

I encourage all parents to make the effort to come and see their child’s work this year. It is important that parents show interest in their child’s academic progress.

If you are unable to make it for reasons that are beyond your control, I invite you to arrange another time after school (between 3:45 p.m. – 5 p.m.) Mondays to Thursdays when I can accomodate your visit insha’Allah.

All the students are currently preparing their work for their parents to come and see their strongest pieces, and work they wished they had done better on. It is also an opportunity for students to reflect on their learning, and on their goals.

Some students will come home with a Scholastic Book Order. Just so you know, there will be a book fair (as mentioned in the school newsletter) on April 14 – 15 so you can either order from the form, or get an idea of the books your child likes and send money with them on those days instead. It is up to you.

Thanks, as always for your time and support.

Have a super day!
